Teachers will learn and participate in applications of Place-Based Learning and “Teaching in the Wild” principles ready-made for the classroom or teacher self-care. Based on work from the Kennesaw Mountain Writing Project and inspired by a love of writing and nature, teachers will learn how to incorporate these practices into their classroom and beyond.

Jennifer Dail
Jennifer Dail is a professor of English Education at Kennesaw State University. She serves as the president of GCTE and as the director of the Kennesaw Mountain Writing Project. Her research focuses on the intersection of digital literacy and anti-racist pedagogies, equitable assessment practices, and young adult literature. She actively works in mentoring graduate students and faculty.
Brian Clements
Brian Clements is a polymath who is, ironically, terrible at math. He has performed in a world premiere opera, published award-nominated game writing, and plays 14 instruments. He is the Dramatic Writing instructor at Wheeler High School, where he has taught for 8 years, and acts as the Voice of Wildcat Athletics during football and basketball season. He is currently in dissertation mode, working to complete his EdD in Secondary and Middle Grades Education – English from Kennesaw State University where his work will be the first case study of the Dramatic Writing course ever published.
