In this session, participants will experience the new Practices Standards in an interactive, hands-on workshop that makes them the students. Working with texts that highlight diverse cultural voices, participants will journey through all eleven K-12 Practices.

Laura Smith
Laura has taught at North Cobb High School in Cobb County for 13 years. She currently teaches Magnet 9th Literature and American Literature. She is a member of guiding coalition and serves as North Cobb’s Gifted Coordinator. Outside of school, Laura enjoys reading, playing tennis, shopping at Sephora, listening to true crime podcasts, and spending time with her friends and family.
Alexandra Yeganegi
Alexandra has taught in Cobb County for 13 years. She is currently the ELA Department Leader at North Cobb High School, where she teaches American Literature in the International Studies Magnet Program and supports seniors in a graduation coach role. Outside of school, Alex loves reading, baking, planning her next trip, hiking, and spending time with her family and cat.
