In this session, educators will learn the ins and outs of book choice and how implementing choice reading into their instructional practice can revolutionize student engagement with reading. Our presentation will share valuable research which supports the incorporation of book choice as an integral part of their instructional practices.

Dr. Curtis is an educator with over 19 years of experience. She has been a high school English teacher, elementary library media specialist, and is currently a high school library media specialist at Newton College & Career Academy and an adjunct instructor for graduate school library media programs at the University of West Georgia.
Ms. Kelly Ortiz
Ms. Ortiz is the instructional coach at Newton College and Career Academy who has been in education for 30 years. She has been in her current position for seven years and was an English Language Arts teacher for 23 years. She has a B.A. in English from the University of Southern Mississippi, M.A. in English from Piedmont College, and an Ed.S. in Curriculum and Instruction from Piedmont College.
