Distortions of Space and Time: Teaching Grammar in the Chatbot Era (021)
What productive tensions exist when AI meets conventional ELA literacies? In this session, participants will consider the not-so-subtle implications of common grammar myths and truisms as a means of imagining new spaces for language study in which chatbot AI might help students grapple with the effects of intentional language choices.

Dr. Michelle D. Devereaux has taught English Education for twenty years as both a secondary English teacher and a university professor. Her teaching and scholarship focus on language studies in the secondary English classroom, highlighting how linguistic and sociolinguistic concepts can be integrated into existing curricula. She is currently the Director of English Education at Kennesaw State University.
