Facing Constraints by Embracing Critical Hope (056)
This session employs Grain’s (2022) critical hope coupled with a workshop approach seeking ways to navigate and negotiate mandates and reform. Teachers will develop positionality statements of their worldview, analyze how this view aligns with their teaching, identify and grapple with spaces of discomfort, seek possibilities for agentic teaching.

Two middle school teachers with 40 years combined experience met serendipitously in a professional capacity. Soon after our relationship grew into a symbiotic friendship that strengthened us both.
