Current curricula often lacks the influence of Indigenous peoples on contemporary history, and contain scant mention of current Indigenous issues, leaving students believing that American Indians are peoples lost to the past. This Retro Report collection of films and lessons aims to help teachers tell a fuller story.

I have been a teacher of sorts for twenty years. I have knowledge of outdoor education practices and First Nations literature, and possess insatiable curiosity with a drive to continue making learning relevant for all students, especially Native ones. I stepped out of my role in public education in 2019 to fully devote my time to community engagement and curriculum writing projects.
I’m married to a great guy, have two cats, and call Minneapolis home. We enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, good food, and world travels. I’m a self-diagnosed bibliophile with little restraint. I’m currently reading “Becoming Little Shell” by Chris La Tray.
