Let Me Entertain You: Improving Fluency & Comprehension Through Nursery Rhymes and TV Show Theme Songs (012)
This K-5 session will afford you an enjoyable time while becoming familiar and confident with using nursery rhymes, television shows, and sitcom theme songs to support students with fluency, comprehension, and content integration. Discover strategies to assist struggling readers with fluency that also support fluency differentiation and student progress. Nostalgia is the driving force of this session. Come! You will leave entertained and motivated to look at language arts in a whole new way!

Dr. Yolanda Williams has been teaching for 25 years. She holds a BA, MEd, and EdD from Brenau University and is certified in elementary education and middle school language arts. She holds endorsements in ESOL, reading, and math. Yolanda loves all things literacy and is a self-proclaimed instructional strategist. She is also an educational consultant, and conducts professional learning sessions at schools, and at district, state, national, and international conferences. Yolanda has also partnered with Follett School Solutions as a blogger and webinar instructor.
